"Ava Reed, a 26‑year‑old native white female, is an outstanding flight attendant at Great Lakes Airlines. She has been in a secret relationship with star captain Jaxson Voss for four years—during which Jaxson has always treated her as a stand‑in for his first love, Scarlett Hale. In the early days, Jaxson is domineering and obsessive, using his status and authority to trap Ava, forcing her to endure humiliation and submission. Ava gives birth alone to their daughter Zoe, who suffers from congenital heart disease, and bears everything on her own. When Scarlett returns, she tries every means to win Jaxson back. Layer by layer, the truth emerges: the soulmate Jaxson fell in love with in college, and the anonymous person who took care of him for six months during his low period after a flight accident left him blind—both were Ava all along. Jaxson slowly realizes that he deeply loves Ava, but his possessiveness has only caused her more pain. Ava’s heart dies, and she gives up. Then she is pushed into a desperate corner by her daughter’s critical illness, the exposure of her true identity, and the schemes of her best friend. In the end, Jaxson risks his life to save her. Ava’s real identity is revealed—she is the long‑lost heiress of the wealthy Carlisle family. The three of them finally resolve all misunderstandings and are happily reunited."
