For five years, Chen Chuan and Ye Yuqi have run a street stall. Beneath the surface of their seemingly ordinary life lies a deep-seated pain: Chen Chuan’s “abnormality,” his mother’s worsening heart condition, and a secret Ye Yuqi has guarded for a decade. One day, their fragile peace is shattered when thugs arrive, violently trashing their stall. Chen’s mother tries to pay them off with her hard-earned savings, only to be callously pushed to the ground. The truth then crashes down: the thugs are from the powerful Lin family, and they’ve come for Ye Yuqi. A decade ago, the Lin family’s car killed Chen Chuan’s brother. In an act of profound atonement, Ye Yuqi chose to stay, pretending to be Chen Chuan’s girlfriend to care for this broken family. Now, with the past catching up, she must leave to protect them once more.
