Chloe Reed landed a $100 billion order and received a $1 million bonus. Her colleagues Jax, Leo, and Elara—who had contributed nothing—pretended to be supportive and asked her to treat them to a meal. Chloe had originally planned to take them to a standard upscale restaurant, but the three of them secretly changed the venue to an exorbitantly expensive luxury hotel, intending to splurge and then force her to foot the bill. Having seen through their scheme, Chloe contacted a lawyer in advance and recorded the entire conversation as evidence. That evening, the group racked up a bill of $537,000. They also ignored her alcohol allergy and forced her to drink, causing a rash to break out and making it difficult for her to breathe. Chloe endured the discomfort to gather evidence, obtained their fraudulent expense receipts, and resolutely refused to pay the bill. The trio called the police and falsely accused the restaurant of fraud. When the police arrived, surveillance footage exposed their lies, and the three were forced to pay their own bills while blaming each other. The next day, Jax used his uncle’s authority to fire Chloe in an attempt to pocket a million-dollar bonus. Chloe presented the full set of evidence to the chairman, exposing the long-standing embezzlement and misappropriation by multiple individuals. At the awards ceremony, Chloe publicly revealed all the evidence. The chairman fired the three individuals and their protectors and handed them over to the police. After their arrest, the three shifted blame onto one another. Chloe reclaimed the bonus and was promoted to department manager—a position she would not normally have qualified for—and stood by the window, smiling calmly, embodying the power of courageously standing up for one’s rights.
