Born into humble roots, the heroine first picked up golf—a sport of the elite—because of her mother. At a charity gala, she meets her future husband, who comes to her aid; the two fall in love, and she marries into wealth. Years later, while abroad, she’s targeted in an assassination. By chance, she crosses paths with a former mercenary investigating his friend’s murder. He saves her, and clues lead him to suspect they’re hunted by the same killer. Taking a job as her bodyguard, he protects her while digging for the truth. Together, they uncover what’s hidden—and choose to stay together.
