"Born into an ordinary family, Shen Xinglan was raised by her parents as a “commodity” to climb the social ladder. Trapped in their suffocating control, she yearned only for escape. At an auction, she stunned the crowd with a rebellious transformation—crimson lips and an aura of defiance. This unexpected performance inadvertently drew the attention of Gu Chiye, the heir to the powerful Gu family. Outwardly a socially awkward academic, he is in truth a mysterious scion who commands both the legitimate and underground worlds. He was captivated at first sight. Yet, a case of mistaken identity ensnared them in a twisted dilemma: the more he fell for the rebellious woman before him, the more he felt compelled to despise the “person” he believed her to be. "
