A week before their wedding, Evelyn learns from her lawyer that her fiancé Damon has long been legally married to Clara. Far more than just her late brother’s widow, Clara is also the mother of Damon’s secret illegitimate daughter. For eight years, Evelyn bankrolled and boosted Damon’s booming business empire with her money, connections and resources, only to be treated as his secret lover and personal ATM. Crushed but resolute, she teams up with Kieran, Damon’s most feared business rival. She stages successive public takedowns at boutiques, mansions, apartment entrances, investor galas and board meetings. In the end, Damon loses his company, reputation and freedom; Clara loses her stolen status. Evelyn reclaims her properties, corporate shares, her mother’s heirlooms, and takes back control of her whole life.
