Miss Wen Ruan, a prominent socialite from the Beijing elite, returns to China only to discover that her fiancé, Ji Li, is entangled in an ambiguous relationship with another woman, Gu Zhenzhen, who bears an uncanny resemblance to her. Gu Zhenzhen not only fosters this affair but also manipulates Wen Ruan's friends to isolate her. Resolute, Wen Ruan decisively ends her engagement and cuts ties with those who sided against her. During this tumultuous time, she crosses paths with Chen Yan, a distinguished academic she has known for years but barely interacted with—unaware that he has returned for her. As events unfold, Wen Ruan exposes Gu Zhenzhen’s true nature, kicks her ex-fiancé to the curb, and embarks on a sweet romance with Chen Yan.
