On Etheria, House Helios enforces the Pureblood Law—only purebloods may learn magic. Elara, a bastard, is secretly taught by her uncle Marcus. When Marcus is caught and his veins shattered, Elara hides her power for years. After exposure, the traitor Malakor attacks, captures her mother Helena, and kills Marcus. Elara’s veins are destroyed; she leaps into the underworld, bathes in the Styx, rebuilds her veins, and discovers she is Hades’ daughter. She returns, rallies allied mages, defeats Malakor, and fully awakens as the Daughter of the Underworld. She abolishes the Pureblood Law, opening magic to all, and accepts Hades’ call to become the new ruler of the underworld. A tale of prejudice, sacrifice, and redemption.
