The two met again at the demolition site of the orphanage. When Maria and her friends were about to be driven out of the orphanage by fierce thugs, Robert rushed over in time to save the beauty. It turned out that Robert came because he was attracted by Maria's stealing skills and wanted Maria to help him steal things, but was rejected by Maria, who hated evil. In the process, Robert learned about Maria's real predicament, began to sympathize with her, and was deeply attracted to her.
