Fifty years ago, Serene, the once-in-a-millennium sacred light prodigy of the Holy Light Clan, was betrayed by her fiancé William and scheming stepsister Lila. On her magic assessment day, they swapped her power rankings out of jealousy. Branded a fraud, she was exiled to the desolate border wastelands for the rest of her lonely life. Half a century later, her granddaughter Olivia rises from the ashes of her family’s ruin. Nurtured by two generations of maternal sacrifice, she masters magic alone and climbs to co-partner of the nation’s top mage firm. When she outshines Vera—William and Lila’s spoiled, privileged granddaughter—in a brutal recruitment trial, the powerful Kane Clan unleashes merciless retaliation. Olivia gets stripped of her Mage Department credentials, slandered across the magical realm, and hunted by deadly assassins. Unbroken, Olivia unites exploited common mages and wronged academy students to unravel the Kane family’s decades-long crimes: Vera’s stolen sacred light thesis, William’s years of exploiting young mages as a fraudulent mentor, Lila’s theft of Serene’s sacred light ranking, and her illegal rune money laundering under the guise of a Holy Light Carver. Justice finally crushes the three villains. Having avenged her bloodline, Olivia builds the Lightmark Covenant Firm, fighting endlessly for every marginalized mage crushed by corrupt noble magic clans.
