Per family rule, every adult must bond with a beast companion. In her past life, Ivy chose the fox Rhys, only to be manipulated by his charm for years, before being killed by her sister’s dark beast. Reborn on the bonding day, she ignores the awaiting Rhys and picks a dying white serpent Silas hidden in the cage’s darkest corner. No one knows the frail serpent is the future Serpent King — and he is also reborn. This life, Ivy heals, protects and teaches him. They take revenge on all their past enemies. Abandoned and thrown into the beast arena, the humiliated Rhys finally realizes he has lost his only true lover forever.
