Unaware of the intruder's motives, she finds her life spiraling into a series of bizarre and terrifying events. She becomes the target of a deranged and possessive obsession from Leo Hanson. At the same time, she must escape an attempted kidnapping and trafficking by the enigmatic Old Man Pete, and survive a vengeful plot orchestrated by her senior schoolmate, Simon Holt. Trapped in a living nightmare, Joanna's only hope lies in the timely intervention of her landlord, Vanessa Ford, and a desperate rescue by her best friend, Lillian Jones, which comes at the ultimate cost.
