Dante Locke, a legendary hero who has retired from the battlefield, now lives under an assumed name as a warship scrap collector at the Seventh Shipyard, all to ensure his daughter Tessa grows up safe and sound. At a fleet celebration, he is publicly humiliated by a powerful brother-and-sister duo, and his daughter is also put in an awkward position because of his lowly status. But as the identity of the “Black Mage”—a legend from the old battlefields—is revealed, all those who had humiliated him begin to tremble with fear. Meanwhile, the treasonous conspiracy behind the Black Tide Campaign a decade ago drags the father and daughter back into the storm raging at the naval port.
