Arthur is the star player of the Dallas Mavericks, a professional basketball team. Three years ago, as a rising star who caused a sensation across the United States, Arthur could have easily signed with a top team in the league and secured a starting position. However, to help his fiancée Elena achieve instant success in the sports world, he willingly condescended to join the perennial bottom-ranked team, the "Ironclad Vanguard," on the sole condition that the board of directors would promote Elena to the club's general manager position. For three years, Arthur's dominant performance on the court transformed this struggling team into a winning streak and a rising force in the league. With a crucial game about to conclude, Arthur planned to propose to Elena, his girlfriend of four years, after the game. However, Elena, in order to promote the talentless "backdoor" player Julian, forced Arthur to repeatedly pass the ball to Julian in the first half. Arthur decisively attacked based on the situation, establishing a huge lead by halftime. During halftime, Elena ignored the result and harshly criticized Arthur for not following her instructions, forcing him to relinquish control of the ball. Arthur offered a reasonable tactical explanation, while Julian feigned remorse, his words subtly sowing discord. Elena immediately rebuked Arthur for suppressing the newcomer and ordered the entire team to revolve around Julian in the second half. Despite having control in the second half, Julian made frequent mistakes, and the score was quickly tied by the opponent. In dire straits, Arthur turned the tide, taking over the game and even aggravating an old injury to secure a narrow victory. In the locker room after the game, Julian feigned remorse and tears, but subtly implied that Arthur and the other players were deliberately isolating and refusing to cooperate with him. Ignoring Arthur's injury from fighting so hard to win, Elena angrily turned the tables, blaming Arthur entirely for the near-defeat. She withheld all of his winning bonuses for disobeying orders and even revealed the harsh non-compete clause Arthur had signed years ago, forcing him to apologize to Julian and take the blame for damaging the team, or else he would be forced to leave with nothing. Several key players stood up in defense of Arthur, but Elena threatened to terminate their contracts, silencing them all. Seeing the betrayal, Arthur immediately removed his jersey and wristbands bearing the team logo, coldly mocking as he resolutely left the arena. The moment he stepped out, Chloe, the iron-fisted owner of the top-tier sports franchise "Ace Arena," whom he had previously rejected, forcibly snatched him away with a lucrative max contract and top-tier medical rehabilitation resources. Meanwhile, without Arthur, the Ironclad forwards, under the disastrous performance of starting player Julian, suffered a humiliating defeat to the bottom-ranked team in the league, instantly facing a life-or-death situation with massive broadcasting rights breach claims. Board Chairman Marcus, upon hearing the news, was furious and called Elena, beating her for not letting Arthur play. Elena dared not admit that she had forced Arthur out, and could only guiltily claim that Arthur's old injury had flared up and he needed rest. At the bidding summit for the exclusive sponsorship of the new state arena, Elena arrived with Julian, arrogantly assuming that Arthur's resurrected appearance was a desperate attempt to reconcile. She even condoned Julian's humiliating bet that if he lost the bid, he would permanently retire from Texas basketball. When the mayor announced that the exclusive sponsorship had been awarded to Chloe, Elena was devastated. The official statement bluntly revealed the bottom line: the entire state of Texas only recognized Arthur's court dominance and commercial value. Julian, enraged, challenged Arthur to a one-on-one match. However, on the demonstration court at the summit, he was easily crushed by Arthur's superior offensive and defensive skills, suffering a humiliating defeat. Club veteran and board chairman Marcus rushed to the scene. Upon learning of the lost deal, he was furious and publicly stripped Elena of her management power, ruthlessly exposing the harsh truth that her proud managerial position was only secured by Arthur lowering his own price to join the team years ago. Crushing her pride, Elena finally saw through Julian's incompetence and discarded him. She tried to beg Arthur to return by offering him a marriage contract, but only received a devastating blow from Arthur and Chloe. The Ironclad Vanguard was completely dismantled and absorbed, and Elena, stripped of all privileges and protection, suffered the bitter consequences of her actions.
