Aurora is the youngest daughter of the general manager of a subsidiary under the Kingston Group, neglected at home and treated by her parents as a pawn for marriage alliances. By day, she is an overlooked young lady; by night, she is secretly sent through a private passage to the bed of Edward, chairman of the Kingston Group, becoming his hidden mistress. Edward is drawn to Aurora's youth and beauty but repeatedly refuses to give her a legitimate title. His wife, Victoria, is none other than Aurora's own aunt. Pregnant Victoria is Edward's favorite woman; Aurora is merely her stand‑in. After one too many promises of "wait a little longer," Aurora's heart gradually grows cold. She decides to marry Edward's second son, Julian—a frivolous and dissolute playboy. On their wedding day, Edward discovers the truth and publicly declares that Aurora belongs to him. Enraged, Victoria brutally beats the pregnant Aurora and abandons her in the mountains to die. On the verge of death, Aurora fully darkens. After being rescued, she schemes step by step, using a secret potion to make Edward obsessed and addicted to her while his health declines; she sows discord between Julian and his father, and secretly allies with the eldest son, James, stirring up a bloody storm within the Kingston family. In this chess game of power and revenge, Julian's coup fails and is stabbed to death by Aurora herself; James is handed over to the police and prosecuted; Victoria is stripped of her children and dies a miserable death. Edward, drained and at death's door, never knows that the woman beside him has long harbored deep hatred for him. In the end, Aurora ascends to the position of chairman of the Kingston Group, carrying her unborn child. Standing at the pinnacle of power, she overlooks all, her eyes devoid of the gentleness she once had. When the world gave her no justice, she gave herself justice.
