Born and raised in a coastal fishing village, brothers Elian Marin and Kane Marin once relied on each other for survival. Hardworking, fearless, and gifted with an innate understanding of the ocean, younger brother Elian risked his life daily to take on the most dangerous deep-sea fishing jobs. In contrast, elder brother Kane owned the boats, connections, and sales channels but was lazy and cowardly. He never dared face the brutal sea, choosing to leech off his brother’s hard work and reap all the benefits effortlessly. After a month of deadly deep-sea fishing, the brothers earned a million-dollar haul. They agreed to split the profits equally—but upon returning to shore, the greedy Kane betrayed Elian. He seized all the wealth, tossing his brother merely $20,000 and treating him like a disposable laborer. For years, Kane continued to exploit, humiliate, and take advantage of Elian’s loyalty, draining every ounce of his brotherly bond. Broken and disillusioned, Elian finally resolved to break free. With timely support from the kind wealthy heiress Lia Carte, he bought an old, worn-out boat and rebuilt it from scratch, determined to build his own future. When a catastrophic storm swept the ocean, every local fisherman dared not set sail. Kane cowardly stayed ashore. Only Elian, relying on years of life-or-death sea experience, accurately predicted the storm’s path and ventured alone into the deadly forbidden waters. With his superior fishing skills and precise ocean judgment, he avoided hidden reefs and raging undercurrents, harvesting a full load of rare seafood and a priceless bluefin tuna. In one legendary voyage, he earned a staggering $6.5 million, stunning the entire harbor and humiliating the arrogant Kane. Overwhelmed by twisted jealousy and unable to accept his subordinate brother’s rise, Kane lost his mind. Obsessed with surpassing Elian, he took crippling high-interest loans to upgrade his fleet with top-tier equipment, foolishly believing expensive gear could replace true experience. Without sea wisdom or practical skills, his reckless gamble backfired violently. Misreading underwater noises for massive fish schools, he charged into the stormy abyss, resulting in his boat being destroyed, all equipment ruined, and total financial collapse. Unable to repay the massive loan sharks, Kane had his legs broken, permanently ending his fishing career. Once a respected local fisherman, he fell into ruin, crippled and drowning in debt. Meanwhile, Elian climbed steadily toward success. He built his own seafood trading empire, opened overseas supply chains, and married Lia, the only one who truly cherished him, achieving ultimate success in both career and love. In the end, Kane was abandoned by everyone, reduced to a homeless beggar wandering the city streets. Tormented by endless regret and madness, he lived in agony, forced to witness the brilliant life he could have had. A powerful story proves one truth: steady hard work earns glory, while greed and speculation only lead to self-destruction.
