New York Mafia boss Christian adored his wife. When a bowl of porridge turned out to contain peanuts, he shot the housekeeper on the spot—only to be accused of being violent by his pregnant wife, Eva. She returned to her family in anger; they had no idea she was married to the city's most dangerous man. Her prejudiced parents, arrogant stepsister, and brother-in-law repeatedly bullied and humiliated Eva during her pregnancy. As Christian's secret protection came to light, those who wronged her paid dearly one by one. Eva gave birth safely, and Christian guarded his queen and child with his life.
