Despite her reluctance, Selene Dell marries Wayne Locke, who suffers from a leg impairment, in place of her sister and ends up being mistaken as a gold-digger. However, as they spend more time together, they gradually begin to see the good in each other. After navigating misunderstandings, a kidnapping, and memory loss, Wayne ultimately decides to help Selene and support her family’s costly medical bills instead of forcing her into anything she dislikes.
