At thirty, Arthur Vance had become Greenvine City’s business titan. Sick of boardroom games, he stepped down, adopted six-year-old Leo, and vanished to a quiet farm. Twenty years on, Arthur is fifty-plus, Leo is ready to marry, and the empire Arthur built now dominates the city. A late-stage diagnosis pushes Arthur to put his house in order and make one last gift. He arrives at the wedding with the papers in hand—when a different contract lands on the table.
