"In the kingdom of Santenar, a rigid class divide separates royalty from the slums. Crown Prince Lysander suffers from a condition that makes any woman's touch physically unbearable—until a drugged encounter with a shoeshine girl named Martha reveals otherwise. He slips his signet ring onto her finger, but by morning she is gone. Months later, Lysander is declared infertile, and the royal line hangs by a thread—until an abandoned baby arrives at the palace, bearing his ring and his birthmark. It is his only heir. Martha, fleeing a loan shark, enters the estate as the infant's wet nurse. She is the only woman Lysander can touch—and the only one the prince's son will feed from. As they raise the child together, love grows, but neither knows the truth: she is the mother of his heir. When the King discovers her secret, he orders Lysander to marry her. The Prince refuses—until Martha walks through the doors. Father and son realize at last: she is the one woman he has always belonged to.
