Later, Pei Liyan accepts a business marriage arranged by his family and rejects Wen Bai's confession. They eventually become strangers to each other, and even when they meet at work, greeting each other seems like a luxury. When she confronts him, the answer she receives is even more heartbreaking. Finally, at his engagement ceremony with someone else, she decides to let go.
