This policy explains what WatchDex collects and why. We keep it minimal.
What we collect
- Account data — if you create an account: a handle, an optional email, and your password (stored only as a salted scrypt hash — we never see or store the plaintext).
- Your activity — sources you submit, votes, ratings, watchlist and comments, tied to your account.
- Cookies — a sign-in session cookie, your theme choice, and an anonymous vote token. No third-party ad cookies are set by us.
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic. You can block it with any tracker blocker.
- Abuse prevention — we store a one-way hash of your IP (never the address itself) to rate-limit spam.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t host or serve any video.
