Instantly falling for her, he rescues her from hardship and, pressured by his family to marry, confesses his love on the spot. She agrees, and they begin a mature romance. When she reveals her fortune, he insists he loves her for who she is, not her status. Despite ongoing suspicion and disdain from her ex-husband, his mistress, and her husband's daughter, the man's repeated acts of heroism deepen her love. In the end, even his two daughters come to accept her, and the couple wins everyone's heartfelt blessing.
