Thirty years ago, the Abyss Rifts opened and mechanical abominations invaded Earth. Humanity fought back against the alien menace using mechs. Cole Astra was written off by the Astra family as a castoff outcast due to his mere 40-percent mech neuralsync rate, enduring constant contempt and suppression from his father, brother and sister. On the brink of death, the fragment of an advanced civilization inherited from his mother awakened within him. Cole gained the defying-heaven ability to absorb mech power directly into his own flesh. He steam-rolled all powerful rivals in the Resource Trials. After claiming the championship, he publicly severed ties with his cold-blooded family. Then three demigod-class abominations launched a full-scale invasion, bringing catastrophe to the city. Left stranded in a death trap with his mech destroyed, Cole pushed past his limits once more. Mastering the power of the Storm Sovereign, he slew the demigod foe with a sky-piercing tornado and saved the entire city. Bidding farewell to his mother, he turned into a shooting star and headed for far-off battlefields. His grand odyssey had only just begun.
