Meng Zhaozhao’s husband Shen Yu faked his death after his twin brother died in battle, returning as his brother to care for his sister-in-law. He harmed Meng—making her miscarry, framing her—to achieve his goal. Heartbroken, Meng left and married Minister Wei Heming. Overwhelmed by regret, Shen Yu exposed his identity and even kidnapped her on her wedding day, but it was too late. He ended up crippled and jailed, while Meng lived happily with Wei.
