Despite constant abuse from Sophia’s spiteful stepmother Diane, Ryan and Sophia grow close and eventually fall in love. When Sophia’s father, James, falls critically ill, Ryan steps up to help the family. Meanwhile, Mia forges a marriage certificate in an attempt to steal Ryan’s multi-billion-dollar empire.
