On their wedding day, bride Chu Jianwei ran away to resist the arranged marriage, leaving groom Lu Yanxiu to face ridicule from guests alone. Three years later, Chu Jianwei takes charge of Guangyan Group, while Lu Yanxiu heads Lengjing Technology. They cross paths again for business cooperation and slowly develop affection for each other. Unaware that her father’s designated son-in-law is Lu Yanxiu, Chu Jianwei keeps rejecting him. Though Lu Yanxiu has no romantic feelings for his nominal wife, he maintains their marriage out of responsibility. At a bidding conference, Lu Yanxiu casually addresses Chu Jianwei’s father as father-in-law, shocking Chu Jianwei into realizing her beloved partner is the groom she abandoned three years earlier.
