"In her past life, Tracy Brooks sacrificed everything for love, marrying beneath her station and using all her resources to propel her husband, Conrad McMillan, to the powerful rank of General. Her reward? Betrayal. Once he achieved glory, Conrad discarded her, marrying her own stepsister, Emily Brooks. He cruelly forced a potion on Tracy to terminate her pregnancy, declaring that only Emily's children were worthy to be his heirs. Reborn into the modern world, Tracy makes a shocking discovery: Conrad has also crossed over into this new life. This time, armed with the bitter lessons of the past, Tracy vows her story will have a different ending. She will not repeat her mistakes. In this new era, she is determined to forge her own path, leaving the traitor of her past life firmly behind."
