After eight years together, Qiao Zhiyuan's boyfriend Luo Xinghe repeatedly stands her up at the civil affairs bureau—always rushing off to tend to his so-called "junior," Jiang Lanyue. On their tenth attempt to get married, he abandons her once again. Heartbroken, Zhiyuan enters a contract marriage with Mo Ziqing, the brother of her college roommate. When her beloved grandmother passes away, Luo Xinghe not only fails to show up but cruelly accuses her of lying about the death. From that moment, Zhiyuan's heart turns to stone. With Mo Ziqing's steadfast support, she fights back: she defeats her ex in the business world and publicly exposes Jiang Lanyue for plagiarizing her graduation project and destroying her grandmother's treasured scarf. In the end, the scheming duo tear each other apart and both end up in prison. What began as a fake marriage slowly blossoms into true love. Zhiyuan finally marries the man who truly loves her—and finds the happiness she has long deserved.
