Hannah was marrying the man she loved. Then Alexis crashed the wedding with a pregnancy test and a story of heroism. Ethan chose Alexis. He chose guilt over love. In their home, Alexis tormented Hannah daily. When Hannah's baby died from neglect, Ethan believed Alexis's lies. He signed the divorce papers Hannah placed before him—coldly, blindly, without a second look. At the Anderson Group's anniversary gala, Hannah appeared in black diamonds. She dropped the divorce decree on the floor. She placed her child's ashes in Ethan's hands. She threw the DNA test at his feet: the baby was his. Alexis's child was not. Her father Arthur arrived with security. Ethan broke. Alexis was arrested. Hannah walked away from the ruins and became the queen of her own empire. Ethan chose to live in a fantasy where he never failed. Reality had already left him behind.
