Natalie Smith uncovers a shocking and heartbreaking truth about her husband, Henry Foster—he has slept with his sister-in-law and gotten her pregnant. His self-righteous excuse is that Natalie cannot bear him children. That night, she calls the most powerful man in Southon and marries him. At her wedding, Henry begs for forgiveness, but she only retreats into her new husband's arms. With cold authority, Ethan Foster claims her as his wife and warns Henry to know his place.
