Grand Princess Ximena of the Celestial Empire once led her armies to conquer the realm and placed her younger brother Xavier on the throne. Afterward, she retired to the countryside with her daughter Liliana. Eighteen years later, at Liliana’s wedding, Ximena discovers that the rightful son-in-law, Liam—the top scholar—has been forcibly granted in marriage to Chancellor’s daughter Selena. Worse, the groom’s mother wants Liliana to enter the mansion as a concubine. Enraged, Ximena brings her daughter back to the capital, vowing to demand justice—and hang that dog emperor up for a beating.
