"Young jewelry designer Ye Zhixia shares a passionate marriage with Gu Haonan, but years in, a tragic accident leaves him comatose. Devastated, Zhixia loses her will to live. Then, her brother-in-law Gu Haoxun awakens from the same crash, mirroring Haonan's mannerisms, habits, and intimate knowledge down to the last detail—coinciding with Haonan's near-death and Haoxun's own brush with mortality on the ring. Convinced it's Haonan's ""soul"" transferred, Zhixia falls deeper, validating it through handwriting, shared memories, and even repairing her custom necklace. When Haonan passes, she clings to the belief his spirit endures in Haoxun, embracing the new reality. But their bond draws the mother-in-law's moral outrage, especially after Zhixia conceives Haoxun's child. On her deathbed, the mother begs the truth from her ""soul-swapped"" son. Haoxun confesses: no transfer— he'd loved Zhixia before his brother, impersonating him to spare her grief. Urged to reveal all and stop the charade, Haoxun stays silent, addicted to her love, content as the lifelong stand-in for the man she truly adores."
