Seven years into her marriage, Elena Vega poured her heart and soul into developing a core patent for her husband's gene technology company. She believed she had a complete family, until one stormy night she overheard a conversation between her husband and mother-in-law in a hospital corridor—the "nutrients" she gratefully drank every day were actually lab waste; her husband, whom she considered her life's support, was stealing all her achievements and plotting to oust her on charges of "academic misconduct." In despair, she reclaimed her identity as the heiress to a California biopharmaceutical tycoon, and from then on, she made a triumphant return. She patiently plotted, using seven years' worth of backup data as her weapon, step by step, exposing the conspiracy in public, ultimately sending the villains to federal prison, and reclaiming her dignity and a fulfilling life.
