In a tragic accident, Flynn York loses not only his talents but also his mind, leaving him a shadow of his former self—bullied and dismissed as a nobody. Five years later, devastation strikes again when his seven brothers and three uncles perish on the battlefield, never returning home. As his family falls apart, the final blow comes at their funeral—his fiancée abruptly calls off their wedding. Just as Flynn reels from the betrayal, the unmarried partner of one of his late brothers makes a shocking announcement—she will marry him instead. Stunned and uncertain, Flynn hesitates. After all, he is not the broken, feeble man everyone believes him to be.
