In their past life, Eliana Sullivan married a penniless scholar and became a powerful minister’s wife, while her elder sister Andrea Sullivan married the heir to the Prince of Calmshore but died tragically, driving the heir to become a monk. Reborn, Andrea insists on swapping fates and marries the poor scholar, only to face a cruel mother-in-law and a husband who despises women and lands in prison for misconduct. Meanwhile, Eliana enters Calmshore Hall, welcomed by the prince and his wife, but the heir, Mateo Larson, favors a cunning girl and treats Eliana with cold hostility. As Eliana repeatedly exposes the schemer’s plots, Mateo realizes his mistakes and begs for reconciliation—only to be rejected. Because what Eliana wants was never love, but the throne of the manor’s true mistress.
