I Grow Up Amid Revenge Meng Jin’s childhood was a living hell destroyed by her stepmother Lin Li and stepbrother Xiao Zeyu. Years ago, the mistress Lin Li came to the door pregnant, coaxing wealthy father Xiao Xudong to abandon his original wife. Mother and daughter were driven out of the wealthy mansion overnight. The once wealthy wife was reduced to a street cleaner, struggling to sleep on the street and even selling blood to survive. Yet Lin Li never stopped tormenting them, framing her mother to get her fired. The biased father even came to insult and threaten them, caring nothing for his own daughter. Humiliation and mother’s endless hardship planted the seed of revenge deep in Meng Jin’s heart. She buried herself in study, ranking top in every exam and winning the provincial college entrance examination champion. Her outstanding grades brought her back to Xiao Xudong’s sight. Vanity made the father willing to give her money and false affection. Meng Jin pretended to be an obedient, filial daughter, acting out a warm father-daughter bond while secretly plotting to take back the Xiao family’s fortune. In high school, Xiao Zeyu bullied her constantly—locking her in dark storage rooms and destroying her textbooks. Meng Jin endured all abuse and collected evidence, exposing his vicious tricks with surveillance footage in public. After the college entrance exam, she gained Xiao Xudong’s full trust as the top scholar. She followed him overseas and tricked him into signing a legally binding property division document when he fell seriously ill and was weak-minded. After Xiao Xudong passed away, Lin Li brought her two sons and tried to seize all assets. She stormed the ward to force a will and even attacked Meng Jin in public. Holding the notarized inheritance agreement, Meng Jin presented solid evidence at the funeral and board meeting. She divided the property following her father’s will, leaving only one villa for Lin Li and taking charge of the minor son’s assets. With no other choice, Lin Li was forced to kneel down and apologize to Meng Jin’s mother in public, repaying the years of bullying. The idle, spoiled stepbrother Xiao Zeyu got nothing and lost all support. Meng Jin retrieved the family fortune her mother had built alongside her husband, healing the wounds they suffered for years. This revenge was never merely venting anger. It was Meng Jin’s thorny path of growth. She endured poverty and humiliation, reclaimed everything belonging to her and her mother with wisdom and forbearance, escaped her miserable past, and embraced a peaceful new life with her mother.
