To avenge her father‘s death, Morgan Reed disguises herself as a man and infiltrates the Imperial Medical Bureau, becoming the personal physician of the Empress Dowager—the very woman responsible for her father’s murder. Secretly, she plants a deadly parasite curse to bring the tyrant down. But Alexander Harrington, the emperor who openly opposes the Empress Dowager, mistakes "him" for an enemy and repeatedly attempts assassination. As rivals clash in a dangerous game of wits, the ruthless emperor develops forbidden feelings for the "male" physician. When the disguise falls, truths are revealed, enemies become allies, tyranny is overthrown, and love prevails.
