The Easter, I’m at the nail salon when I spot it: my stolen emerald ring, glittering on a stranger’s hand. She claims it’s a gift from her husband, Daniel. Funny thing—my husband’s name is Daniel, too. Five years ago, I gave up the Capet family empire just to marry him. Today, he’s spending my fortune on a mistress and gifting her my heirlooms. No tears. I just called the cops, summoned my lawyer, and handed him the divorce papers. As he crawls back begging, I’ll show him the truth: That ring wasn’t the only thing he just lost.
