Heiress Elena, suffering from touch starvation, spent three years utterly devoted to Killian, a black wolf shifter. Yet, pining for Sarah, he repaid Elena only with coldness and constant belittlement. Finally having enough, Elena finalizes his contract transfer and buys Arthur, a severely abused white lion shifter. Struck by sudden regret, Killian relentlessly stalks her, begging for a second chance, but Elena recounts her deep scars and rejects him outright. Killian severs his contract with Sarah and ruthlessly climbs the ranks to prove himself. However, by the time he returns as a powerful, successful man to win her back, Elena is already engaged to a now-accomplished Arthur—leaving Killian to realize he has lost her forever.
