Milly Lawson was born as the beloved daughter of the Lawsons. However, on her twentieth birthday, the Lawsons found their true biological daughter—Wency Lawson. On the surface, Wency appeared gentle and considerate, but in reality, she was jealous of Milly. Wency constantly schemed against Milly, framing her and turning the Lawsons against her until they ultimately abandoned her. By chance, Milly was rescued by James Smith, the heir of the Smith family. James had been diagnosed with autism since childhood and never spoke to anyone. Yet, upon meeting Milly, he miraculously opened up for the first time, bringing immense joy to Mrs. Smith. Desperate for her son's continued progress, Mrs. Smith begged Milly to stay. Having already been cast out by the Lawsons, Milly agreed. For three years, Milly and James spent their days together and gradually fell in love. When James proposed, Milly accepted, becoming the young mistress of the powerful and wealthy Smith family. Just as she thought she had finally found happiness, the Lawsons—who had not contacted her in three years—suddenly wanted to take her back. Milly initially believed they had finally come to their senses, only to discover the shocking truth: the Lawsons had sought her out solely because Wency needed a kidney transplant.
